Deadline for title/abstract submission: 31 August 2021

The Centre for the Study of Democracy (CSD), University of Westminster, the United Kingdom, and the Center for Local Governance and Research (CLG) Bhutan invite all Bhutanese researchers to present their work on different aspects of development and resilience in Bhutan at this virtual conference. The conference is intended to provide a forum to present your work to fellow academics and policy audiences. There will be a special panel stream to encourage Bhutanese Early Career Researchers (ECRs). The call for papers is open to policy and professional researchers, masters, doctoral and postdoctoral candidates. We look forward to receiving your title and abstracts for this research Conference to be held on 2 October 2021. An abstract of between 150 to 200 words should be submitted to bhutancsd2021@gmail.com on or before 31 August 2021, 9 pm (2100 hrs) Bhutan Standard Time (BST). Selected presenters will be notified of their participation by 5 September 2021. There is no registration fee for the conference and all those selected to present will be awarded a certificate. The papers/presentations with strong research potential will be considered for publication.

This conference builds on the experiences from the past two rounds of BBR Conferences organised by Dr Nitasha Kaul of London’s University of Westminster in collaboration with CLG Bhutan under the theme, ‘Bhutan: Biodemocracy and Resilience’. Central issues for the forthcoming conference include governance, economy, health, environment, education, culture, and employment, among others (https://bhutanbiodemocracy.com and @BhutanBiodemocracy Facebook page).

Primary criteria for selection of abstracts will be the relevance, originality, and research potential. Selected candidates will be notified via email by 5 September 2021 to prepare a presentation for upto 15-minutes during the conference. The entire proceedings of the conference will be recorded and shared on the Bhutan Biodemocracy website (www.bhutanbiodemocracy.com) for wider dissemination.
